Hey,
My name is Faye, and I’m a certified nutrition nerd, fitness freak, and most recently, muscle mommy.
I’ve spent years learning and practicing everything I can about all of the above in pursuit of a healthy relationship with my body and food. This is what I’m passionate about sharing with others. Like many who find themselves immersed in these realms, my fitness journey began when I decided I was tired of trying to shrink myself to meet some arbitrary aesthetic standard of the “desirable woman.”
I wanted to change, but I was afraid of doing something different. I had no role models for another way of being… So, I spent 15 years in a cycle of growing a little, shrinking a lot, over and over and over… until finally, I found bodybuilding and realized OH SHIT! There’s another way to do this fitness stuff that’s not all about being the smallest you can possibly be without ever actually acquiring strength.
Once I opened the door, I began to feel how tired I was of the you must stay small enough mindset that had been driving my every action. And after wrestling with myself for another five years, I’m finally ready.
SO! This blog is a documentation of my n=1 experiment. No more cutting. No more shrinking.
Muscle Mommy, here I come.
I’ll be sharing the ups and downs and in betweens. Reps. Revelations. Recipes. Training insights… and whatever else wants to come out of my crazy brain during this journey. As is the norm for any trip into the unknown, I’m equal parts inspired and terrified to see where this thing goes. And for the biceps. And glutes. Cus ya know, everything in life is about dat ass.
